Cardio For The Human Condition
Artificial Intelligence is all the rage, which makes raging against the machines somewhat en vogue. YES, the rise is real, AND the anxiety is valid. The good news is that we've been here before.
As an elder Millennial, I spent my early years in the pre-Internet world. In my teens, the touch-tone phone line gave way to dial-up for browsing the information superhighway on Ask Jeeves and eventually Google. My teens introduced Napster and Limewire to download MP3s for use on burned CDs. Then came the dawn of personal blogs with Xanga, and MySpace pages. College saw Facebook take over as the predominant social media platform (before the phrase even existed). Finally, the year I earned my degree saw the introduction of Amazon Prime, Netflix streaming, and, most disruptively, the iPhone.
It's too easy for my generation to lament about all these social, political, cultural, and technological changes.
The point is, when things feel out of whack or overwhelming, it's important to find the constants. Like all technologies, machines are human machinations. Until the day robots solve robot problems to earn robot currency to pay for robot wants and needs for future generations of robots, our cause and cure will be fundamentally human.
Phew.
More Fearless embraces what it means to be a sparsely furry primate - messy, illogical, complicated, creative, capable - and with far more processing power than we fully understand.
Rather than racing to replicate intelligence, More Fearless taps into the unseen parts of a collective unconscious. After 20 years of improvisation on and off stage, we constantly field questions like, "How did you think of that?" "You really didn't plan anything?", or "Where do those ideas come from?" Honestly, we don't know. We might not fully understand how our brain stuff works, but what matters is that this mystical improv stuff does work.
We're here to help you conjure what feels like magic. Accept and leverage uncertainty. It requires practice. It tolerates absurdity. It involves play and fun and laughter (*gasp*). Optimize elsewhere. Exist in the moment. Connect with more energy. Focus on outcomes. Collaborate. Take risks. Stumble. Trust. Succeed. Do it all More Fearless.

AUTHOR Published in 2024, Buried In Beige: Why Do We Insist On Making Things People Hate serves as part memoir, part laxitive for creative constipation, and part survival guide for advertising professionals. At the time, I didn't realize it would also serve as the genesis for the More Fearless Improv + Soft Skill System. Buy it if you're the DIY type, want some light-lifting lit, or simplify want a supplement.
IMPROV TROUPES & TRAINING Performing saw our improv teams entertain hundreds or delivering one of the best shows to a crowd of two. (In hindsight, hosting a gig on the night of the FRIENDS series finale wasn't the savviest idea.) In addition to traveling throughout the tri-state region, and at times, the rest of the country, I've had the honor to receive coaching from some of the most elite practitioners.

ADVERTISING & MARKETING INDUSTRY Creative direction, brand strategy, marketing consulting, account management, copywriting and more over nearly two decades allowed me to peek behind the curtain, look under the hood, and expose the inner workings of well over 100 different organizations across almost every industry. It also introduced me to the nuance and complexity of audiences. What motivates people? What delights or discourages? These experiences illustrated flaws in formulas and our fickle, fascinating nature as consumers, stakeholders, communities - ya know, people stuff.
